Logistics Coordinator - Run for the Cure
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation BC/Yukon Region (CBCF) is seeking a Vancouver Fundraising Coordinator, Run for the Cure to join its Fund Development Team. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for the implementation of the plans and activities related to the successful delivery of the Region’s Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure. The majority of the time will be focused on assisting the Vancouver Run Coordinator with Vancouver Run-specific event logistics, including Vancouver brochure distribution, site planning and scheduling of deliveries. Some of the time will be devoted to assisting the Run Fundraising Coordinator with fundraising and stewardship initiatives, (including helping at Teams Events), personal stewardship of top fundraisers, and coordination and implementation of the BC Direct Response campaign. The Vancouver Logistics Coordinator is also available to assist other Run staff on events, such as BC Run Director Training and media launches.
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is the largest single-day fundraising event for breast cancer in Canada with over 170,000 people participating in 55 communities. The 2008 Vancouver event attracted over 10,000 participants who contributed more than $1.5 million to the national total of over $28.5 million.
Qualifications:
- University or college degree or equivalent in related subject area
- Minimum of three years experience in special events/fundraising, preferably in a not-for-profit environment
- Experience working in a volunteer environment, as either a staff or volunteer
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising specific databases
- Exceptional organizational, time management and multi-tasking ability
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast paced deadline driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and think critically
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with participants, volunteers and colleagues
- Willingness to carry out all levels of the task at hand
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
